This website www.lunanano.com and www.lunanano.ca (the “Sites”) are owned and operated by Luna Nanotech Inc. (“Luna”). If you have a question or complaint about our personal information handling practices, please contact us at privacy@lunanano.com .

 

In this Privacy Policy (“Policy”) the terms “we”, “our” and “us” mean Luna and the terms “you” and “your” refer to the users of the Sites, including visitors and Luna customers.

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform and Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our Products and Services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND WHAT DO WE DO WITH IT?

When you visit our Sites, we collect personal information. Personal information is information that identifies you or could be combined by us or our service providers and affiliates with other information to identify you. Information you provide to us directly: When you visit or use some parts of our Sites we might ask you to provide personal information to us. For example, we may ask for your name and email address on our Contact page. We may also receive your contact information when you contact us directly at the contact email provided on the Sites.

 

If you purchase Products or Services on our Sites, our payment processor (Wix.com) also collects your login information (if applicable), including e-mail address and password; computer and connection information and purchase history. Wix also collects personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications) and payment details (including credit card information) to complete the transaction.

 

If you do not wish to provide us with all or some of the personal information required to place an order for Products or Services you do not have to, but it might mean that you cannot use some parts of our Site, or order Products or Services.

 

Information we collect automatically: We may collect some information about you automatically when you visit our Sites such as information that Wix.com and platforms like Google Analytics may collect about your interaction with our Sites including the geographic location of your IP address, the IP address itself, device type, what pages you looked at, what links you clicked on, your browser type and settings, the date and time of use, information about browser configuration, language preferences, and cookie data. This information is useful for us as it helps us get a better understanding of how you’re using our Site so that we can continue to provide the best experience possible.

AGE OF CONSENT

 

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If we determine we have collected personal information from a child younger than 18 years of age, we will take reasonable measures to remove that information from our systems. If you are under the age of 18, please do not submit any personal information through the Site. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children’s Internet usage and to help enforce this Policy by instructing their children never to provide personal information through the Sites without their permission.

DATA STORAGE AND TRANSFER

 

The personal information you submit to us maybe transferred to, processed, and stored wherever Wix servers are located, which might include Canada, the United States, the European Union, and other locations. If you provide any personal information through our Sites, you are agreeing to such personal information potentially being hosted and accessed in Canada, the United States, or the European Union. DATA SECURITY

However, internet data transmissions, whether wired or wireless, cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure and, as a result, we cannot guarantee the security of the personal information you transmit to us; accordingly, you acknowledge that you do so at your own risk.

 

If you provide us with your credit card information for purchases of Products or Services, the information is encrypted by Wix.com using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption.  Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards. The date is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).

 

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

 

If we learn of a security system breach, we may attempt to notify you and provide information on protective steps, if available, through the email address that you have provided to us or by posting a notice on the Site. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive such notices in writing.

DATA RETENTION

 

The length of time we keep your personal information depends on the what it is and whether we have an ongoing legal or legitimate business need to retain it (for example, to provide you with Product or Service you’ve requested or to comply with applicable legal requirements).

We’ll retain your personal information for as long as we have a relationship with you and for a period of time afterwards where we have an ongoing business need to retain it. Following that period, we’ll make sure it’s deleted.

 

Personal information collected by Wix.com for the purpose of processing a transaction on the Sites is stored only as long as it is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

 

If we store your personal information on the basis of a contractual relationship with you, these data will remain stored for at least the duration of the contractual relationship and at most for the duration of the limitation periods within which any claims may be brought by or against us, or for the duration of statutory or contractual duties of retention.

CONSENT

 

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only.

 

If we ask for your personal information for any other reason, like sending you marketing information or other promotional emails, contest, etc. we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

 

 
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

 

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as Wix, our payment gateway, and other payment transaction processors, such as PayPal, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

 

If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.

 

We may change or update the terms of this Privacy Policy from time to time. All changes and updates are logged in the CHANGE LOG section below. You will be bound by the terms of the Privacy Policy in effect on the date of your visit to the Site.
